第五代固定通信网(F5G)通过超大带宽、全光连接和极致体验等特性,实现了宽带家庭和工业网络的高度普及,推动了“光联万物”的产业愿景。然而,面对偏远和无人区域的连接需求,F5G的地面网络仍存在诸多局限。
2024年11月2日,亚洲通信与光子学会议(ACP)在北京举行。会上北京邮电大学联合14所高校单位和6个产业单位共同发布《第六代固定通信网(F6G)白皮书V2.0》中英文版,持续贡献中国学术界在新一代固定通信网领域的见解与智慧。
本白皮书系统性地阐述了F6G的核心特征、关键技术以及应用场景。F6G将承接F5G的发展成果,以天地一体化网络架构突破光纤网络的覆盖能力约束,并在此基础上大幅扩展网络带宽、智能化能力和安全水平,将连接范围从地面延伸到空间,实现全球无缝互联。
我们期望本白皮书的发布能够推动学术研究工作,加快形成技术共识,推动相关产业的发展,助力实现全时全域智能光互联。
The Fifth Generation Fixed Network (F5G) achieved extensive adoption of broadband for both household and industrial networks through its features of ultra-high bandwidth, full optical connectivity, and ultimate user experience, advancing the industry vision of “all-optical connectivity for everything.” However, F5G’s ground-based network still faces significant limitations when addressing connectivity needs in remote and unpopulated areas.
On November 2, 2024, the Asia Communications and Photonics Conference (ACP) took place in Beijing, where Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, in collaboration with 14 other academic institutions and six industry organizations, jointly released the bilingual version (Chinese and English) of the White Paper on the Sixth Generation Fixed Network (F6G) Version 2.0, contributing further insights and expertise from China’s academic community to the field of next-generation fixed networks.
This white paper systematically outlines the core features, key technologies, and broad application scenarios of F6G. Building on the developments of F5G, F6G aims to overcome the limitations of optical fiber network coverage through an integrated terrestrial and satellite network architecture. This approach significantly expands network bandwidth, intelligence, and security, extending connectivity from the ground to outer space to achieve seamless global interconnection.
